Forts Randolph and Buhlow is proud to present Settlers on the Red for 2025's Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend! A program delving deeper into the colonial history of the Red River as a backdrop for just why it was so important in 1864. The event will include a presentation on the history of colonial settlement on the Red, hands-on activities, and demonstrations to give a full understanding on the way the Red River shaped Central and Northwestern Louisiana today!
Also, beginning Saturday, September 13th through Sunday, September 14th, any Girl Scout in uniform along with those in the car, get free admission to the park. We hope to see you all here soon!
We encourage Girl Scouts to wear their uniform to this event.
Parents are welcome to attend and join in the experience!
