Appreciation Pin- Candidate has provided outstanding service to at least one Service Unit that is above and beyond the expectations for the position held and contributes to the council goals and objectives. Required: 3 letters of recommendation.
Honor Pin- Candidate has provided outstanding service to two or
more service units that is beyond the job requirements and contributes
to the council goals and objectives.
Required: 4
letters of recommendation.
Thanks Badge- Candidate has provided outstanding individual
service that benefits the total council or the entire Girl Scout
organization- the service performed is truly above and beyond the call
of duty; that no other recognition would be appropriate.
Required: 4 letters of recommendation.
Thanks Badge II- Candidate is already a Thanks Badge recipient who continues to serve the council or the entire Girl Scouting organization with outstanding service. Required: 4 letters of recommendation.
Volunteer of Excellence- Candidate has performed beyond expectations for the position to deliver the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls using the national program portfolio, or the candidate's performance has supported the council's goals in one or more of the following areas: Membership Development/Community Cultivation, Volunteer Relations and Support, Program, Leadership and Governance, Fund Development and Council Support Service (such as IT, Customer Service, Merchandising, Marketing or Communications.) The candidate actively recognizes, understands and practices the values of inclusive behavior. Required: Nominating Letter with supporting documentation & 3 Letters of Endorsement
Community Recognition- An individual or organization, work that has a lasting effect on the lives of girls and women.
Years of Service Pins (10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35)- Recognize those who have been with Girl Scouts as an adult volunteer for the appropriate years. Five-Year service pins are given at service unit meetings.
Service Unit Recognitions

Juliette Low- Registered adult who has served one full year prior to nomination. Recognition for someone who has provided creative and exceptional service that benefits the entire SU.
Outstanding New Leader- For a registered adult who is a first-time troop leader. Recognition for service beyond what is expected of the position. Required: 2 Letters of Endorsement from Troop Members.
Outstanding Leader- For a registered adult serving as troop leader or assistant troop leader. Recognition for outstanding leadership qualities in the delivery of the Girl Scout Program. Required: 2 Letters of Endorsement.
Community Recognition- For individuals, community groups or businesses for a significant contribution to a troop or SU.
Sponsorship Certificate- For community groups or businesses for sponsorship of a troop or SU.
5-Year Pin- For registered Girl Scout volunteers to recognize those who have been with Girl Scouts five years as an adult members.
