Flexible Offerings

Program a la Carte offers opportunities for your troop or Service Unit to participate in programs when and where you want! Choose your own adventure at a time and place that works best for your group.

Our partners can offer discounts, programs that relate to the Girl Scout badges, service opportunities, event space, and fun educational activities that encourage girls to grow within Girl Scouts and around their closest sisters.

How does it work? It’s simple!

  1. Decide what you want to plan – a meeting activity, a Service Unit event, etc.

  2. Choose your partners using the resource guides below

  3. Contact the partner to set date, time, and place

Partners are knowledgeable on our program and are prepared to align their service with the program for your group.

What are you responsible for?

Girl Scout volunteers utilizing a Program a la Carte Partners service is responsible for:

  • Gathering participants for the program

  • Communicating with the partner on logistics of the program

  • Ensure Safety Activity Checkpoints are being followed and girl to adult ratio is being met

  • Paying the partner directly

Chicot State Park offers a great space for your troop to explore whether hiking trails, boating, or birdwatching. It has a state arboretum with outdoor classroom and labeled flora trails, as well as a water playground. Thist state park offers a Junior Ranger program as well which is an excellent resource to leaders and girls visiting the park to learn about the outdoors. The Children's Museum of Acadiana is a facility where girls can explore and learn by doing… sound familiar? From robotics to pet care, they have workshops that fulfill a variety of badge requirements for Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors.

Go on a coding adventure with Mitzy before November 1, 2022 and learn how to use Scratch coding platform to create your own animated project! Learn basic coding concepts to animate your project, including prototyping, algorithms, user events, loops and conditional statements. Complete all the steps for the Brownie or Junior level coding badge series and the Junior Entertainment Technology badge.

MoneyVille

Girls will learn how to run their own girl-led city, MoneyVille. They will serve on the town council and learn how to use the city’s money to ensure that the town continues to run successfully. Opportunities to earn multiple entrepreneurship pillar badges are available on-demand.

Share your love of reading with new friends across the state! Through this group, girls will choose the books, share thoughts, and develop new ideas as a group through this series. 

The first set of books will explore the lives of incredible women and discover what made them go-getters, innovators, risk-takers and leaders! 

  • Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors will begin with Troop 6000 
  • Juniors will begin with The Path to the Stars 

Virtual meetings will be held once a month for each age group – elementary girls, middle school girls, and high school girls. The only cost to participate in the group is the price of the books. Girls can also check their local libraries to see if they have the books available. 

Girls entering grades 4-12 are eligible for this group. Click here to join this group.
